Meriden-Ozawkie Public Library  

Are you an enthusiastic, community-minded leader?  Are you a visionary looking for an opportunity to shape a public library poised for growth?  If so, the Meriden-Ozawkie Public Library Board of Directors invite you to apply to be our new Library Director. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, carefully steward financial resources, and promote collaborative relationships throughout the community.  Meriden-Ozawkie Public Library is a district library and has an annual budget of $443,000 supported by tax dollars.  Support is also provided through regional system grants and donations.  The library is a member of the Northeast Kansas Library System and is a full participant in Next, a shared regional catalog of 43 Libraries.

Responsibilities: The Director has overall responsibility for planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of library operations and services including, but not limited to: budget, personnel, collection development, technical and automation services, facilities, programming, and community relations. Unique to this position, part of the development would include overseeing the new library building.

Requirements: A high school diploma or GED required.  A minimum of three years professional library experience.  Other preferred qualifications include experience reporting to a governing board, successful fundraising/grant writing skills, experience working with budgets, and working effectively with government officials and other public constituencies.

Compensation: The position offers a starting salary of $52,000 (dependent upon experience and qualifications).
